Beninese icon Angélique Kidjo teams up with Pharrell Williams and Quavo for “Bando,” from her album “HOPE!!” This new orchestral version, featuring Voices of Fire and a 50-piece orchestra, first premiered as the closing moment of Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2027 Men’s Show in Paris, where Pharrell serves as Men’s Creative Director. The video, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Paul Hunter (Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize,” Mariah Carey’s “Honey”), was shot in La Grande Borne, a working-class neighborhood in Grigny outside Paris, with local residents joining the shoot as extras. It’s a warm, joyous visual carrying a powerful message: where you start should never define how far you can go. Blending afropop, gospel, and orchestral grandeur, “Bando” is a celebration of resilience, community, and pan-African pride. An anthem of hope worth sharing with everyone you know!
