Awilo Longomba — Makusudi (Official Music Video)
Some legends never stop surprising us, and Awilo Longomba is clearly one of them. Son of the great Vicky Longomba, co-founder of the legendary OK Jazz alongside Franco, the Congolese artist has shaped generations with his electrifying soukous and fiery ndombolo, before becoming a pioneer of techno-soukous. With “Makusudi,” a Swahili word meaning “deliberately” or “on purpose,” Awilo takes a notable step toward East Africa, celebrating intentionality and sincerity in human connection. The video, shot in a festive, sun-drenched atmosphere, features a lively group choreography moving between bustling streets and coastal scenes, carried by the artist’s legendary stage presence and his troupe of dancers. Between Congolese rumba heritage and Pan-African outreach, “Makusudi” proves the veteran hasn’t lost an ounce of his infectious energy. A track to dance to without holding back, from Congo to Tanzania.
