When African music influences the world, who truly supports its creators? Sampa The Great asks the question with “Location”, the third single from her album “Nu Zamrock” (October 30, 2026, Loma Vista Recordings). The Zambian rapper confronts the global imbalance and the cost of creating outside the West. Produced by Grammy winner Cadenza, the track is a scorcher: sharp guitars, a powerful rhythm section and an incisive flow, in the spirit of Zamrock, Zambia’s 1970s rock, whose pioneers included her uncle George “Groovy Joe” Kunda with the band WITCH. Sampa reinvents it with hip-hop, poetry and soul, for a sound both ancestral and futuristic: “the future remembering where it came from”. A visualizer to watch again and again, driven by plain-spoken lyrics and contagious pan-African energy. To share with everyone who believes in the power of African creation!
