FIDÉ: Sessimè makes a powerful, heartfelt comeback
After a few years away from the spotlight, Beninese diva Sessimè returns with “Fidé,” a deeply felt new single released under the Keyzit label. Coming three years after the birth of her daughter Athara, this comeback track blends Afropop, zouk, and the Beninese sonic textures that have always defined her sound, delivered with newfound emotional depth. Co-written by Sessimè herself alongside Melra, who also composed the track, “Fidé” gently explores themes of faithfulness, love, and commitment, wrapped in a warm, intimate atmosphere. The video, directed by Kevin Klidjo, beautifully captures this artistic rebirth, complemented by styling from AEME, Hermann Atchôtépé, and Nixo’o Fashion, and makeup by Odile. Personal yet universally relatable, this release proves Sessimè’s voice hasn’t lost an ounce of its power. Her devoted fans, whom she lovingly calls “mes lumières” (my lights), have been waiting for exactly this moment.
