What if true love also means accepting that it’s too late? Koppo teams up with the Queen of Bikutsi, Lady Ponce, for “Angelina”, the natural follow-up to his cult hit “Si tu vois ma go”. The story: after leaving his partner behind for a departure he never actually made, our man returns years later, hoping to rekindle the flame. But Angelina has rebuilt her life and found her own happiness, and his return feels like a threat to the balance she worked so hard to build. Between nostalgia, regret and self-assertion, the song asks a question that hits home: can you claim a place in a life you chose to leave? Musically, it carries Koppo’s unique signature, a mix of afro-rap and slam in “camfranglais”, with touches of makossa and bikutsi, elevated by Lady Ponce’s voice. The video is directed by Alexis Dipanda and Ousmane Tao. A true Cameroonian gem to share with anyone who has ever heard “too late”!
