“Gabriel wears the tie, but his heart is bleeding.” Koffi Olomidé, the Grand Mopao, is back with “Gabriel”, a track of over seven minutes that began as a viral improvisation before becoming a full song, released on September 27, 2026. The story? An elegant-looking man who neglects his wife until the day she leaves with a suitcase in hand. Only then does he realize, too late, how much her absence weighs. With his storytelling gift, vivid turns of phrase and a touch of humor, Koffi tells the story of married life like a small musical play, over a modern Congolese rumba base, blending human voices with technological touches. The 4K video is directed by Ach’B, who has already made some of Congolese music’s most notable visuals. Written and composed by Koffi Olomidé. A pan-African gem that makes you smile, think and hum along, to share with friends!
